This is the base of the 143 m Vazra falls as it cascades into the forests of Virdi in Maharashtra and joins the Valvanti river. The rock face of the entire falls is also the nesting site of the Long billed vulture, an endangered and rare bird.
Now that is one spectacular wonder of nature. One thing that I have learned through environmental safety training is that beautiful sites like that can be endangered if we don't take good care of it. I sure do wish that my kids and my kid's kids will be able to see that in the future.
I am a wildlife ecologist working in the Western Ghats of the states of Goa,Karnataka and Maharashtra on lesser known fauna in general and herpetofauna in particular. My aim is also to photo document the lesser known fauna the Mahdei Bio region and create awareness amongst the masses of the same.
