Goan mangrove forests- repositories of bio diversity.

Mangroves are also classified as forests. Goan mangroves support fish nurseries and help protect against tidal waves and cyclonic waves. The diversity of fauna is impressive too including smooth coated otters, marsh crocodiles, an array of birdlife and of course crustaceans of various sizes and colour.
